With the support of Nexira and SOS SAHEL

An open-air photographic exhibition on the trees that protect, nourish, and connect people
For 130 years, Nexira, the world leader in natural plant-based ingredients, has been protecting the trees from which it harvests fruits and has been committed to sustainable production methods. The “Trees of Life” project, initiated with the ByArt agency, tells this story of commitment through the artistic lens of Nicolas Henry, photographer and scenographer, who creates true portrait-paintings in collaboration with local residents, farmers, and artisans.
As part of the PhotoClimat Biennale 2025, Trees of Life will be showcased at Place de la Concorde in partnership with Nexira and SOS SAHEL. This new series pays tribute to millenary olive trees, wild carob trees, and prickly pear cacti, as well as the communities that protect them. Displayed on large outdoor panels, the exhibition offers a free and accessible open-air journey blending art and pedagogy in the heart of Paris.
PhotoClimat is a free social and environmental biennale that highlights the work of NGOs, foundations, and committed artists. Its 2023 edition gathered more than 5 million visitors. Nicolas Henry’s commitment originates from his long-standing interest in the Great Green Wall, a pan-African project aiming to curb desertification through tree planting from east to west. In this context, the Nexira Group invited him to an artist residency in Chad and Senegal, organized with SOS SAHEL, for a month of encounters and immersion. This experience proved foundational for his work and led to the creation of the first chapter of Trees of Life.
“After the first series in Africa, we are opening a new chapter in Tunisia: cacti, century-old olive trees, and carob trees are at the heart of our historic supply chains. Supporting this artistic work in these territories is self-evident, as it reflects our field commitments.”
Mathieu Dondain, Vice President and Managing Director, Nexira
“The Trees of Life project illustrates how communities weave bonds with wild trees and gather their treasures for the benefit of all. In Tunisia, these nourishing trees have structured life for millennia. Through this exhibition, I hope everyone can feel the deep connection that unites Humankind and Nature.”
Nicolas Henry, photographic artist and co-founder of PhotoClimat
